On episode 11 of Chewing the Fat, Wendy and Jason talk about learning to prioritize gratitude and reject urgency.
Takeaways from the last 30 days:
Wendy recently traveled to Madrid to accept an award from the International Women’s Entrepreneurial Council, where she emceed an event with over 41 countries represented. Her biggest takeaway was all the greatness in one room, with the incredible mix of cultures and businesses. She was humbled and honored to be part of such a group. She saw how women are making important things happen all over the world.
Jason has decided to reject urgency as of late. He always does anything anyone asks him to do, and while that’s great sometimes, it can also be disruptive. He’s trying to reject that sense of urgency and understand the full scope of what’s happening before reacting.
Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
Monthly topic: Gratitude
Wendy was invited to a Facebook group called 90 Days of Gratitude. You have to post five new things you’re thankful for every day for 90 days, and if you miss a day, you have to start over. This group changed her life. She can now realize all she has and start being grateful for things she wouldn’t normally think to acknowledge.
It’s good to pause and reflect. Imagine if you did it more than just around the holidays. Pause each morning and notice how much there is to be grateful for in the moment.
