In Chewing the Fat, Episode 8, Wendy and Jason discuss their biggest takeaways over the last 30 days, an exciting new concept about customer love, and some breaking news for ContentBacon.
Wendy has been thinking a lot about turning losses into wins. While it would of course be great to keep every single customer and have a 100% retention rate, losses do happen. For lots of reasons, good and bad.
These moments can hurt. It’s easy to try to push away any sadness and force yourself to stay positive.
But what about feeling the pain? What if you did take it personally? Try using your emotions to shift your thinking about how you want the organization to be.
For Jason, the last 30 days have been about incremental steps. It can be daunting to see huge numbers you’re trying to reach. Instead, break it down. What do you need to do now to get one step closer?
This week’s topic is about falling in love with your customers.
Love isn’t something we talk about in business or with our customers.
But we say screw all that. When you lead with love, everything is possible. Try to fall in love with the people you’re talking to. Their goals and their businesses. It helps you lead with empathy.
Remember that it’s an honor to work with your customers and learn their stories. Just like you would when falling in love, hang on their every word. Everything becomes interesting. You have more energy than you’ve ever had.
Think about how you treat your team, too. Everyone has amazing reasons to fall in love with them.
Let’s elevate humanity through love.
We also have an exciting new offering on LinkedIn. Wendy is doing a weekly newsletter called Side of Bacon. It’s easy to digest and is super relevant to growing your business and staying present.
